It was a while ago now but I have been so busy with one thing and another. Juggling SOSA with making Chocolates & cakes along with looking after the Little Man (Ray). Finally finished uploading photos from helping my other half Mark Poynton at The Loft Project.
I first herd about the Loft project whilst working at Midsummer talking to Scott while running the Pass. I was very interested to see what it was all about, but never thought I would end up in the Kitchen there over the weekend.
Most if not all the prep was done just a case of making the bread each morning, Cooking a few Items, setting a few jellies & Plating up. Didn’t expect anything less from Mark but It was nice to be back in the Kitchen again with Mark.
Well the room not what I was expecting at all….
I had pictured something to be on the top floor, dark, enclosed with Sloping celling & Candle lit. Old and rickety with a grand oak table, Chairs with high backs.
But no It was a ground floor open plan stone wall apartment with full length windows very airy & lots of room. Proper bachelor pad. Ideal to see a Chef at work the whole room was one big kitchen table. A very informal evening everyone who came wanted to see what was going on, very chatty they left knowing pretty much everyone else around the table. Nice to see a couple of Marks regular dinners from Alimentum take the trip down to London for the occasion.
Definitely an experience I enjoyed & would love to go back weather it be part of the Kitchen teem or enjoying dinner with a room full of foodies.
